Surprise Diorama Box Card Tutorial

Ten years ago today, I became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. It's my stamp-o-versary! A lot has happened in 10 years! I have given birth to 4 beautiful children, moved 2 times, earned 5 incentive trips, personally recruited 65 demonstrators, and sold almost $200,000 in Stampin' Up! products. Needless to say, that decision was life-changing and I am so grateful for the journey and all of the friends that have crossed my path because of it!

I have lots of brand new stuff I hope to share with you in the next week, but I haven't finished snapping photos and filming videos, so in the meantime, I want to share this project from April. It was one of the projects we made at our Spring Into Stamping meeting. The front is kind of unassuming, but when you open the card, it pops up into a diorama. So fun!

I was inspired by a card posted by Diana Gibbs. She used a different stamp set and colors, but I loved the idea of this surprise diorama when you open the card.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Bright Blossoms stamp set, Petite Pairs stamp set, Real Red marker & cardstock, Old Olive marker & cardstock, Daffodil Delight marker & cardstock, Island Indigo cardstock, Jet Black Staz-On Ink, Whisper White cardstock, Summer Smooches Designer Paper, 2 ½” Circle punch, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch , Simply Scored Tool 1 ¾” Circle Punch

If the kids are quiet long enough! (wink!)

Angry Birds Punch Art Birthday Banner

I had a great time with Jen and her friends tonight. Jen asked to do a birthday theme at her workshop, so all the projects had to do with birthday parties. And since Jen's celebrating her son's birthday later this summer and he loves Angry Birds, I crafted a few projects just for him!

Check out this birthday banner! It says "Happy Bird Day" and in between each word is a punch art Angry bird! I used the Perfect Pennants die for the Big Shot, so cutting the banner pieces was easy peasy!  I stacked the triangles and punched through half the stack at once using the Crop-a-Dile. So easy! The banner is strung together with the White Baker's Twine.

Check out these close-ups of the birds.

Apothecary Butterfly Thank You Card

This was the make and take I offered at my Garage Sale/Open House last weekend. (If you are in Central Illinois and missed the sale, make sure to call or email me to come over for your own private sale...I still have LOTS left over!!)

The make and take was inspired by a card in the catalog, the So Kind of You card on page 190. (View the new catalog here. Don't have a copy yet? Let me know! I will send a free catalog to my customers.)

I used two new In Colors: Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple. I think this would be pretty in blues too!  Baja Breeze and Midnight Muse would be gorgeous together!

The card size is just slightly narrower than normal. The finished size is 5-1/2 x 4". I wanted to be able to cut the designer paper most efficiently, but I also wanted the paper to go all the way to the edge of the card.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Papillon Potpourri, Raspberry Ripple ink & cardstock, Primrose Petals cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Crumb Cake cardstock, 2012-2014 In Colors Patterns Designer Paper, Scallop Edge Punch,  Elegant Butterfly Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits (Big Shot), Rhinestonse Jewel Accents, Stampin' Dimensionals

Floral District Petite Pocket

June has been busy, busy, busy! I had a great party with Cindy and the gang tonight! Thank you all for coming out! I always love stamping with you, even with the immense pressure of trying to impress people who have been stamping longer than I have!

I will post some of our projects later, but here's one from another party I did last week. I made this little gift to give to my last hostess. It was super simple with the Petite Pocket die. You could put a pencil or Pixie Stix in there for a classroom or party treat. For my hostess, I included a So Saffron marker which coordinated with the piece of Floral District designer paper I used. I think she liked it!

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Perfect Punches, Mixed Bunch (flower), So Saffron ink pad, Rich Razzleberry ink & cardstock, Whisper White cardstock, Curly Label Punch, 1/8" Hole Punch, Floral District Designer Paper, Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon, Petite Pocket Die (Big Shot), Sticky Strip

Stamp of the Month Club: Lacy & Lovely Hello Card

I enjoy the challenge of sitting down with a set of products (stamp set, particular ink colors and embellishments) and creating a set of coordinating projects. It seems like it wouldn't be flexible using the same colors and products, but I find it's easier to be creative because I don't have to fuss with color choice for every project.

I took on this monthly challenge over the weekend and created the projects for my Stamp of the Month club. This month, I'm featuring the brand new Lacy and Lovely stamp set from the new 2012-2013 Stampin' Up! Catalog. Here's the first card, featuring the new In Colors Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, and Summer Starfruit.

Join my Stamp of the Month Club and you'll get this hand-made card and two others completely assembled and ready to inspire you! Click here for more details about this monthly online club.

Serene Silhouettes Father's Day Card

Sorry for the blog silence. This week was so busy and I was so exhausted that I went to bed at 8:30 last night! If you know me, you know that's REALLY early! And I actually went to bed at that time, I didn't just fall asleep in my recliner! lol I'm feeling rested today and ready to tackle the rest of my "to do" list in between Father's Day activities.

Here's a card I made for my father-in-law. I saw another card with this layout online. I can't remember where I saw it, but the layout got stuck in my head.

Note: I used smalls slivers of Very Vanilla cardstock to "faux stitch" the button. Click here to see how I did this on another project.

MDS Party Inivitattion & Video about MDS 2 Features

I sent over 100 invitations for my Customer Appreciation Party last month. While I would have loved to hand-stamp all of them, I just didn't have time. My Digital Studio made it so easy to create beautiful invitations and cut my work time considerably! I had the invitations printed four to a page at our local copy shop and then attached them to a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. The invitation was just a flat "postcard" and did not open.(Read my tips for printing four card fronts to a page.)

With the new catalog, Stampin' Up! has announced that My Digital Studio 2 will be released this fall! I am so excited for some of the new features! Check out this video from Stampin' Up! to learn more about what's coming! If you already own My Digital Studio, you'll be able to upgrade for only $19.95. If you buy My Digital Studio now, you'll get to upgrade for free! Want to try it FREE for 30 days? Click here to learn more about the Trial version.

Mr & Mrs Card from Stampin' Up! Catalog

One of the best parts of a new catalog is all the new ideas! Here's a card that is featured in the brand new Stampin' Up! Catalog. The color combination on this card in particular really stuck me! I love the contrast of the Basic Gray against Daffodil Delight. If you look at the photo in the catalog on page 39, you can see that the front of the card is on a window sheet. So neat! (See the catalog online here.)

To see more new project ideas from the catalog, check out my Stampin' Up! website here.

That's not so easy with four little ones running around, but I will keep stealing away time when I can.

In the meantime, here's a card with the brand new stamp set called Chock-Full of Cheer. Is it ever too early for Christmas?! Not when the man in brown is bringing me presents!
